'Until Liberation' was created by the Learning Palestine group and originally broadcast on the Bethlehem-based station, Radio Alhara.
BAYI Women Composers invites Calucag, Julayco, Muyco and Reyes in BAKAS-SAYSAY
We present the second installment of our partnership with Cinema Sala, as we continue to reflect on a dark period in our nation's history. Bakas-Saysay is a narrative about the markings of history. In remembering the history of the elder Marcos’s regime, composers like Muyco, Calucag, Julayco and Reyes convey their different takes on this past. Propaganda anthems from the time of "Bagong Lipunan" (New Society) are interspersed between their creations, like responses and counterpoints to the narratives of the regime.
